Endless possibilities of a pencil and blank sheet of paper

Art has always been the love of my life. I don’t remember a time when I wasn’t drawing. As a kid, I would tell anyone who would listen that I was going to be an animator for Disney. I even sent a letter and some drawings to them when I was six. I received a letter from them encouraging me to keep pursuing art. Although my career path changed as I got older, I never lost my love for creating art. I’ve never done anything that has made me so happy and fulfilled, but also frustrated and confused. With visual art there’s a constant struggle to translate an image from your head to the real world. Nothing ever seems to look 100 per cent the way you want it to but that’s what keeps you working to get better and try new techniques and materials. Drawing and I will be together forever. I don’t imagine I will ever stop working to get better or to take my art in new directions. The endless possibilities of a pencil and a blank sheet of paper keep me going.
