most days I end up smiling

The difference between living and existing is the constant search for beauty and goodness, both in people and the world around us. Some days it is a desperate uphill climb to simply exist – to shower, or leave the apartment, or smile when it feels like your heart is decomposing. Most days, it is an adventure and an honour to live; to listen to the triumphs, failures and mundanities of others; to imagine how things could be otherwise.

Sometimes I make a game of it. Sometimes I lose the game. Most days I end up smiling.
