the one thing people may be surprised to know about me

Long-time CBC radio listeners still say to me: “Oh my God, you’re Victoria Penner, Small But Vital Reporter,” a character for many years on the CBC comedy show Double Exposure. It’s not actually me, but she was modeled after me, for which reasons I still don’t know. I once asked show co-creator Bob Robertson, “Of all the people in the CBC you could have chosen, why me?” And he answered, “Victoria, don’t you know? Everybody else does.”

Double Exposure is no longer on the air, but The Penner files can be found online here. As for the real me, Victoria Fenner, Small But Vital Reporter – I’m a reporter and podcast producer for online magazines rabble.ca and greenplanetmonitor.net who moved to Barrie last summer after marrying Barrie musician Edward St. Moritz (aka Ed Moll).
