I’m fulfilled by what I do every day, as a business development manager, wife, mom and youth leader. I love to connect with people and I love to chat with anyone – including strangers, often strangers. Everyone has such a unique story. I love to hear their stories. Sometimes my kids will ask, “Mom, who was that?” And my response is, “I don’t know. I just met them.” Building connections is what life is about. It’s what fuels me. In return I love to talk about the business I work for, and the industry I’m in. I love waking up and going to work, I love what we do, the way we do it and the culture we do it in.
When I am not in business mode, I spend my time volunteering with young people. The youth of today. I am fascinated by the things they go through every day, and these days life doesn’t make it easy for them. I invest my time in them because they are our future. I offer them guidance, mentorship – the truth is they teach me a lot.
I recently led 12 students from my church on a mission to Guatemala. It’s the third short-term mission I’ve been on. What an incredible opportunity for them to help others living in poverty and to experience life-changing moments like standing at the top of a volcano. Those experiences are going to stay with them forever, shape them. I am so grateful to be part of that.
